Transformers (also known as Transformers Armada: Prelude to Energon [1]) is a PlayStation 2 video game based on the Transformers: Armada animated series. Unlike games with multiple SKUs such as Pok. Г©mon which feature only minor differences between versions, these are two separate games, sharing some basic similarities, but with unique characters, missions and locations.[2]Gameplay[edit]The game (in all its versions) is mainly a third- person action- shooter. All the robots have at least five attack types: a light weapon, a heavy weapon, a melee attack, and the ability to throw objects such as cars, lamp posts, trees, etc., and using a long object like a lamp post as a sword. As its title and characters imply, a robot can transform into a vehicle and vice versa, this gives the game some racing elements, as the player must, in some missions, race to certain point within a time limit or before a character of the opposing faction does. Each area is an open world environment, and there are also side- missions, Energon cubes and Autobot/Decepticon emblems scattered through the city, if accomplished successfully/collected the player can unlock trailers, production photos and unlock color schemes for certain characters. Consoles and PC[edit]The Play. Station 3, Xbox 3. PC and the Wii versions all have the same features. By completing certain objectives throughout the game G1 versions Optimus Prime and Megatron become available, as well as G1 color schemes for Jazz, Starscream, and Optimus Prime (labeled Robovision Optimus Prime). These options are turned on or off once obtained through the bonus menu, and only appear while playing as the specified character. On January 9, 2. 00. Transformers Unlockables was made available for the Xbox 3. Xbox Live Marketplace. It unlocks all bonus characters/skins, items, upgrades, and other unlockable content.[3] The Play. Station 2 version of Transformers: The Game has the same gameplay and features like all the other console versions, with graphic quality being reduced. The Wii is unlike the other consoles, utilizing a different control scheme for movement and attacks that take advantage of its motion sensing controls. With a controller in the left and right hand the player can swipe to imitate attacks or throwing objects and point the Wii Remote at the screen to aim and shoot the gun. The Wii graphics are at a lower resolution than the PC, Xbox 3. Play. Station 2 version. Play. Station Portable[edit]Transformers: The Game for the PSP is very different from its console counterparts, whereas the console versions allow the player to choose which side's storyline they wish to play, the PSP version has only one storyline which alternates between the two different sides.[4] Also, the player is able to play a total of 2. Overall the game for PSP has the most playable characters out of all of the console games. It also has a non- related story than the other games.[5]Autobots[edit]The Autobot storyline begins with Bumblebee landing on Earth and taking on the form of a Camaro. He then defeats a group of Decepticon drones. After learning Sam Witwicky is going to buy a used car, Bumblebee goes to Bobby Bolivia's Used Carlot and is bought by Sam. Later, Sam and his girlfriend, Mikaela Banes, are attacked by a Decepticon, Barricade, but Bumblebee saves them. Bumblebee fights Barricade, while Sam and Mikaela escape. After defeating the Decepticon, Bumblebee finds Sam and Mikaela, who thank him for saving them. Optimus contacts Bumblebee, telling him that Sam has the artifact that contains the location of the All. Spark, and Bumblebee must protect Sam at all costs. Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Ratchet, and Jazz land on Earth, assume alternate forms (a Peterbilt 3. GMC Topkick, a Hummer H2. Search and Rescue vehicle, and a Pontiac Solstice) and meet with Bumblebee, Sam and Mikaela. Sam gives them the artifact, which turns out to be his grandfather's glasses, to Optimus, who explains to Sam and Mikaela the mission of the Autobots in Earth: they are in the search of the All Spark, a powerful artifact which is the source of life of all Transformers, so they can use it to revitalize Cybertron, the homeworld of the Transformers. Ratchet reveals Sam's grandfather discovered their enemy, the Decepticon leader Megatron, trapped in the Arctic. Megatron burned the information of the All Spark's location in Sam's grandfather's glasses so the Decepticons could find the All Spark. Afterwards, Mikaela sarcastically states that she is struggling with why Bumblebee disguised himself as such a "beater", and in response, Bumblebee scans a new and improved yellow Camaro as his new alt- mode. Bumblebee battles Decepticon drones. Ironhide detects Sector 7 helicopters and Prime orders Jazz to create a diversion so that the Autobots, Sam and Mikaela can escape. In doing so, Jazz is cornered by Sector 7 agents. Ironhide rescues Jazz from Sector 7, and manages to defeat several drones on the way. After defeating the drones, Ironhide discovers that Sector 7 is trying to capture Bumblebee. Prime tries to rescue Bumblebee but he fails to save his comrade as he is taken away by Sector 7, partially because of Shockwave. Optimus defeats Shockwave and decodes his transmissions, discovering Starscream, Megatron's second- in- command, also knows of the All. Spark and Megatron's- whereabouts. With their mission clear, the Autobots decide to rescue Bumblebee, Sam and Mikaela from Sector 7. Bumblebee, Sam and Mikaela are captured inside Hoover Dam. A power outage allows Bumblebee to escape. While exploring Bumblebee finds the frozen Megatron and the All Spark. Bumblebee recovers the All. Spark and rescues Sam and Mikaela, and then flee when Megatron awakens. Starscream and Blackout, fly through the dam and cause several generations which allow Megatron to escape. Bumblebee, Sam and Mikaela travel to Mission City with the All Spark. The All Spark's power surges transform human machines into feral drones which attack Bumblebee. However, Ironhide rescues Bumblebee and defeats the drones. Meanwhile, Jazz encounters and fights Starscream and Blackout. Jazz manages to defeat the Decepticon duo, but Brawl appears behind him and extinguishes his spark in front of Ironhide. The Autobot then defeats Brawl in a "slow death", avenging his fallen brother. Bumblebee, however, fights Barricade, who is trying to take the All Spark. Bumblebee defeats the Decepticon and meets with Sam and Mikaela but Megatron appears behind him and quickly defeats Bumblebee, forcing Sam and Mikaela to run away. Megatron is about to kill Sam and Mikaela, but Optimus knocks Megatron aside, challenging him to a final battle. Optimus defeats Megatron, however, just as Sam is about to give Optimus the All. Spark, Megatron jumps up and tries to kill Prime in one last attempt using his flail. However, Optimus catches Megatron's flail and pulls him in closer while crushing the All. Spark in his other hand, and plunging it straight into Megatron's chest, presumably uniting with his Spark, killing him instantly. The story ends with Optimus and the Autobots choosing to remain on Earth. Decepticons[edit]The Decepticons storyline begins with a MH- 5. Pave Low helicopter falling out of the sky, with severe tail rotor damage, presumably caused by Blackout, one of the Decepticons arriving on Earth, who then takes the form of the downed craft by scanning it. He uses the craft in order to enter and destroy SOCCENT Air Base in Qatar, and ejects his companion Scorponok to chase after the survivors who attempt to call for help using mobile communication vehicles, while Blackout searches for top secret data about the All Spark from the remains of SOCCENT through computer terminals kept inside Software towers, then Blackout accidentally sent a Morse Code signal inviting Stealth Bombers and F- 2. After destroying the air force Blackout discovers Data about an Artifact that will lead the Decepticons to the All Spark. Meanwhile, Frenzy is in the captivity of Sector 7. Barricade, scanning a Police cruiser and becoming it as his alternate form, recovers Frenzy and they go to hunt down the human called Sam Witwicky who has the glasses with the All. Spark's location burned into them. Barricade finds Sam and his girlfriend Mikaela Banes, and he chases after them, only to be confronted by Bumblebee. Barricade eventually defeats Bumblebee, and Sam gives up the glasses. Barricade contacts Decepticon subcommander Starscream, that they will soon be heading to Mission City with the All Spark, so Starscream decides to round up the other Decepticons, Brawl and Bonecrusher, and send them to Mission City. However, he is delayed at the airbase, but takes the opportunity to make a 'smoking ruin' of it. Starscream confronts an Autobot drone. Later, Starscream and Blackout arrive at Hoover Dam, then help Megatron to escape, destroying a group of Autobot drones in the process, and then the three transform and fly to Mission City. Megatron (G1) - Transformers Wiki. This article is a featured article, and considered to be one of the most informative on this wiki. The name or term "Megatron" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Megatron (disambiguation). Megatron is the Decepticon leader from the Generation 1continuity family. Megatron is the founder of the Decepticon uprising, and their most well- known and feared leader. As a young, charismatic leader forged in battle and the heritage of war, he began to believe in a grand purpose for his race—it is the Transformers' glorious destiny to rule an empire which will span the universe. The opposite of his mortal enemy Optimus Prime, he feels great contempt for other Transformers who, he feels, betray their proud heritage by demanding peace and cooperation with weaker life forms. It is the destiny of the Decepticons to bring order to the universe through conquest, though in the millions of years since coining this purpose it remains to be seen how much of his mission statement is altruistic.. Megatron will attempt almost anything to achieve his goals, but his schemes are rarely in any way subtle. This is perhaps due to his arrogance, but his pride is not so strong as to dissuade him from abandoning a battle he is losing. He often shows dramatic examples of cowardice, concealed in rage. Some would question his sanity, though these few are mostly now dead by his hands.. Sometimes he uses his energon mace to strike them down. It does not matter how they die. Death by the hands of Megatron is an honour. His Earth alternate mode is usually a modified Walther P3. Contrary to natural assumptions, his fusion cannon becomes the scope, not the barrel. Sometimes, Megatron is later reborn as. Galvatron. You destroy everything you touch, Megatron! Fiction. Marvel Comics continuity. Megatron was a gladiator from Tarn, who sought to turn Cybertron into a cosmic dreadnaught. To win his war for conquest, Megatron's Decepticons developed the art of transformation. Reawakening on Earth in 1. Megatron was ousted from command by Shockwave, and their power struggle continued for sometime until Optimus Prime killed himself in a video game duel. Refusing to believe his nemesis was dead, Megatron committed suicide by blowing himself up on a space bridge. However, the explosion had merely deposited him in the Dead End region of Cybertron, where he wandered as an empty, with no recollection of who he was. After regaining his memories, Megatron forced Ratchet to turn Starscream into a Pretender, but the ploy failed and the two were grotesquely fused in a trans- time dimensional portal explosion. Fixit separated their bodies but the two remained in stasis aboard the Ark. They reawoke when Galvatron, a future version of Megatron, attacked, and Ratchet crash landed the ship. In one universe, Cobra rebuilt Megatron into a tank, and he allied with Optimus against Jhiaxus, his Cybertronians, and the Swarm. In another, fifteen years of peace passed before Megatron rose again. In a third, he woke up in 1. Earth, awaiting the day Optimus Prime would return. Generation 1 cartoon continuity. Megatron was responsible for bringing Cybertron out of its Golden Age when he restarted the Autobot/Decepticon civil war nine million years ago. Among his first actions was the fatal wounding of a young dock worker named Orion Pax, who was rebuilt to become Megatron's mortal enemy, Optimus Prime. Megatron's forces boarded the Autobots' spacecraft when it was on a mission to search for new sources of energy on other planets, and was knocked offline like all the other Transformers when the craft crashed on prehistoric Earth. When both factions reawakened in 1. Megatron made it his mission to pillage all of Earth's natural resources and enslave its populace, with the goal of revitalizing Cybertron and dominating the entire universe. His plans were by turns cunning, wicked, outrageous, and often, utterly, utterly ludicrous. In 2. 00. 5, Megatron faced off with Optimus Prime in a battle at Autobot City, during which he fatally wounded the Autobot leader, but not without taking severe damage himself. Cast adrift into space, Megatron was found by the planet- eater, Unicron, and recreated as Galvatron. In other timelines which branch out of this one, Megatron became a Transmetal, ordered the murder of a puppy, and years after his transformation into Galvatron, became Megatron once again, in various powered- up forms. Sticker Adventures books. In the aftermath of yet another battle had lost against the Autobots, Megatron concocted a sneakier plan to get rid of the Autobots. He had his troops lay low for several days, then instructed Ravage to sneak into the Autobots’ base and steal all of their fuel. Megatron then led his troops into combat once more, before the Autobots would have a chance to procure more fuel. But Optimus, having anticipated a trick on the Decepticons’ part, arrived at the battlefield with a new supply of fuel for his troops. After sustaining too much damage, the Decepticons were forced to retreat once again. Revenge of the Decepticons. Marvel Storybooks continuity. After awakening on Earth, Megatron put into motion a plot that would gain him the unconditional surrender of the planet. Megatron first established the Global Corporation in order to employ the Constructicons to create and build sophisticated buildings all around the world. Each building had been outfitted with a secret mechanism which would trap all of those inside at the push of a button. Once all the buildings had been completed, Megatron would demand Earth's unconditional surrender in exchange for the safe release of the humans captured. Megatron's plan was interrupted by Optimus Prime and his Autobots invading the Decepticon base. Though Megatron attempted to assume the guise of an honest businessbot, Optimus was not fooled, and the two factions began to fight. Optimus had arrived too late, however, and with the plan already in its final stages, Megatron activated the trap mechanisms within his buildings. Megatron then jettisoned the Autobots from his headquarters, and highjacked a television broadcast, making his demands known to the human race. Megatron and Optimus clashed once more afterwards. This time, Megatron had The Devastator help out on the battlefield, and the Decepticons' victory seemed assured with the help of the colossus. That was until the Dinobots' arrival, who effortlessly slaughtered the Constructicons. The Autobots then proceeded to disable the mechanisms holding the humans captive. Despite Megatron ranting that the war was far from over, the Autobots drove away from the battlefield victoriously. Battle for Earth. Megatron sent out Devastator to capture any Autobot the colossus could find. Devastator returned with Sunstreaker and locked him up in a cell within Decepticon headquarters. Megatron then approached the captive Autobot, and informed him that he would be used as a hostage to force the Autobots into surrendering. As Megatron walked away, Sunstreaker took a potshot at his back, enraging the Decepticon leader. Megatron and two Constructicons returned fire with cruel ferocity. With Sunstreaker left cowering in the corner of his cell, Megatron called to Soundwave to open communications with Autobot headquarters. He had his communications officer inform the Autobots of the situation, and demanded their surrender by the next morning. If they did not accept his terms, Megatron threatened to destroy Sunstreaker and rebuild him as a Decepticon! Megatron knew the Autobots would not forfeit the Earth so easily, and so had Devastator stand guard over the Decepticon Base's entrance. Surely enough, a rescue party attempted to storm the base, but were quickly subdued by Devastator as well. Now with four prisoners in his custody, Megatron returned to the prison to address the Constructicons. He told Hook that soon his surgical skills would be needed to convert the Autobots into loyal Decepticons. This led to a squabble between Hook and Bonecrusher, who both wanted the privilege of destroying the Autobots before their reconstruction. Megatron assured them that they would both get their own Autobot to destroy. Megatron sent a second message to the Autobots, revealing that their rescue squad had also been captured. He then explained that with the four Autobots rebuilt into Decepticons, he would have enough power to defeat the Autobots whether they surrendered or not. His deadline nonetheless still stood, and he awaited morning for the Autobots' surrender. The following morning, Megatron emerged from the Decepticon headquarters to find a life- size statue of Devastator accompanied by a letter. The message was from Optimus Prime, and it explained that the statue was a peace offering, as the Autobots had agreed to surrender to the Decepticons. Gleeful at this turn of events, Megatron ordered the Autobot prisoners to be brought before the statue. The statue turned out to be an Autobot ruse, however, and from within it burst forth Autobot reinforcements. Megatron lead the Decepticons in a counter- offensive. He first deployed the Decepticon jets to counter the Autobots' own aerial warriors. The battle took a turn for the worse for the Decepticons when Rumble's earthquake- inducing abilities backfired, and many Decepticons were swallowed up by the earth. Deciding to end the battle once and for all, Megatron fired his fusion cannon at Optimus Prime. But Optimus used a reflective piece of metal to deflect Megatron's beam back at him! Hit by his own attack, Megatron crumpled to the ground, defeated. The Autobots' Secret Weapon. Marvel coloring books. To rule Earth, Megatron came up with the idea to raid sunken treasure. Once they obtained the treasure, Megatron decided to use a truck to take it into town and buy some factories. Unfortunately for him, the truck was Optimus Prime, who released a bunch of Autobots and defeated Megatron and his men.
